I agree totally - sounds like Boris Karloff. Rochester was a man in his late 30s/early 40s not late 60s/early 70s.

The reader of Edward Rochester is horrible. Too fake. I seriously do not believe that is the way anyone would speak naturally. Almost made me completely stop listening. But I decided to endure and see if things improved... Currently on chapter 15...we shall see ...
